Amsterdam, 2nd October 2019 – Applied Risk, a Netherlands-based organisation dedicated to critical infrastructure cyber security, will host an international Advanced ICS/SCADA Hacking Training program at SecurityWeek’s annual Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cyber Security Conference in Atlanta, U.S. on 21–24 October.
The Advanced ICS/SCADA Hacking training will enable participants to increase their knowledge of security analysis and exploitation methodologies for evaluating the cyber resilience of industrial environments and hardware, and is designed to further advance the skills of technical staff responsible for securing ICS environments.
Simulating real-life attacks against key ICS/SCADA components, the course will focus on industrial systems and devices, such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives and Safety Controllers, as well as protocols used in ICS environments such as Profinet and Modbus.
The (ICS) Cyber Security Conference is the largest and longest-standing conference focused on industrial cybersecurity. It brings together operations and control engineers, IT professionals, government representatives, vendors and academics. It has a focus on sharing case studies from previous security events and discussing solutions and protection strategies for energy, utility, chemical, transport, manufacturing and other industrial and critical infrastructure organisations.
“After selling out this workshop at SecurityWeek’s Singapore ICS Cyber Security Conference with fantastic feedback, we are excited to offer this valuable training option to our U.S. attendees,” said Mike Lennon, Managing Director at SecurityWeek. “This level of focused training is a rare opportunity for operators of complex industrial systems to expand their technical skills for protecting OT environments.”
Scott Thomas, an Applied Risk Senior ICS Security Consultant who facilitates these training sessions says: “Our Advanced ICS/SCADA Hacking Training provides participants with an opportunity for a hands-on device and protocol exploration, granting exposure to the wide-array of cyber threats facing critical infrastructure and secure against them.”
Registration for the full day workshop is currently open with limited seats available. For further registration details please find more information here.
